Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Gonzalez-Collins, a Mexican-American sportscaster. She is an ESPN anchor on news, and she hosts SportsNation at times. She began working for ESPN in the year 2016. She is the daughter of the TV reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta has been bilingual since the age of nine. Her skill was instrumental in helping her land her first post as a an assistant to the production team at Univision Miami in which she worked with the producers of numerous shows, including Nuestra Belleza Latina and Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. It was the CBS affiliate in St. Petersburg hired her following this to become the sports reporter. In 2009, she moved to Rio Grande Valley to work as a journalist at KNVO TV 48 Univision & Fox2 News. In 2009, she relocated to Rio Grande Valley, Texas and became an editor for KNVO48 Univision and Fox2 News. In addition, she was an anchor for weather anchors, sports anchors and forecasters. Later, she was anchor and reporter for Univision's Dallas affiliate Deportes 23 where she was given more responsibilities. She was a reporter for the Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS World Series and Dallas Cowboys, NBA postseason, Finals FC Dallas as well the Dallas Stars. She was the producer of Univision 23 Accion Deportiva Extra and was the anchor. She was a host of sports for the morning program of Despierta America Deportes. The same role, she worked for Primer Impacto (a network magazine) and Contacto Deportivo (a UniMas Network sports show). Antonietta's parents hail from Veracruz Mexico. The girl was born on November 22nd, 1984 in Mexico City. There is also an older sister. The family in 1992 left Mexico and moved to Miami. They divorced shortly thereafter and in 1995 her mother was remarried to a naval architect called Fabio Fajardo who passed away from kidney cancer in 2006. Her residence was in Canton Ohio with her older sister in the summertime and was offered the opportunity of a job. Antonietta was a senior high school student however, she was very aware of her goals for the future. She went to Mount Union University in order to see if it was a good fit for her. The campus was a dream for her. The university also provided her with the program she was interested in. She graduated from high school and began studying media at the university. Her relationship lasted for a while with her professor Mark Bergmann who was the director of WRMU 91.1 FM of which she was an affiliate. Her professor, Mark Bergmann, inspired her by his love of journalism. He also deeply impacted her.
